SPOILER-FREE ZONE

I really enjoyed Alienated #1. The colors are vibrant and the story is fun. This comic book is also inclusive in that at least one of the main characters is part of the LGBTQ community. It does a decent job keeping itself updated with the times as far as high school goes. I’m sure it will feel dated at some point in the future. But for now it’s keeping up. The characters have a certain charm that pulls you into the story. I definitely recommend you pick this issue up!

END OF SPOILER-FREE ZONE

You are now exiting the spoiler-free zone. Do yourself a favor and stop reading if you don’t want any spoilers.

At the beginning of the comic book we are introduced to the three main characters: Samuel, Samantha, and Samir. They’re three very different people who just so happen to have missed their rides to school. So they end up walking together through the forest on their way. We also get introduced to a few other side characters, like a bully named Lucas and some others.

Inside the forest, the three come across a weird looking, glowing cocoon. They almost jokingly call it an alien or military experiment. But when they get too close to it, it seems they are all-too correct in their assessment. Suddenly they are inside each other’s heads. They’re still conscious, but their minds are linked to each other somehow. They can hear each other’s thoughts! So they end up spending the entire day at school with this new condition.

After school, they decide to try to figure out just what it was they had discovered in the forest. Unfortunately for them, Samir, seemingly attracted to Lucas, invited Lucas to forest. By the time they get there, Lucas is already trying to destroy the cocoon. Not knowing the consequences of any of their actions, the three S’s try to stop Lucas when… Well I’m not going to spoil the end for you! You need to read this awesome comic book for yourself!
